Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.
And this is becoming a growing problem, I think, because n

Hello everybody!

I just wanted to let you know that for the rest of this month I'll be drawing stuffs just for myself, cause right now with personal problems and everything, I really need a distraction. I really dont like to work on other ppl's drawing when I feel like this cause otherwise they doesnt come out good. So I'll be returning to my To Do list on January, when I'm sure I'll be fresh and ready

You know surprisely, drawing my Raisa with Deuteros has distracted me a LOT from my personal problems, I dont know for some reason I started to feel very happy when I started to draw them again (I guess they keep me busy enough xD), so that's the reason why I have drawn them so much these last weeks, and I think I'll be making some more drawings about them (sorry guys

En mi opinión, tomaste una buena decisión. A veces es mejor recurrir a una "catarsis artística" (como lo llama una amiga mía, ~EviilMinina), para canalizar toda esa angustia, tristeza y estrés de forma positiva. Además, todos tienen que entender que no estás atravesando un buen momento y necesitas respirar profundo, distraerte, dedicarte a ti. Ya sabes que cuentas con todo mi apoyo y sólo queda esperar, que para el próximo año las cosas mejoren, aunque sea un poco (y no, no creo que el mundo se acabe el próximo año

).

Para mi, la mejor manera de deshacerse de los malos sentimientos y distraerse es dibujando, es lo unico que realmente me distrae y me hace olvidar lo malo por unos momentos (si supieras que ese dia que hablamos por msn hice varios dibujos de Kanon llorando, aunque no entiendo porque hice a Kanon y no a Priss

es raro porque normalmente ella es quien representa como me siento xD)

Y bueno, espero que en enero me sienta mucho mejor, porque la verdad, sintiendome asi no me gusta trabajar en dibujos para otras personas, porque creeme que mi estado de animo influye demasiado en los resultados, y ya sabes que cuando es un dibujo para otro suelo ser mas perfeccionista que con los dibujos para mi.
